I’m not usually one for politics. I don’t know anything about it. I don’t know who is a Democrat and who is a Republican half the time. I personally believe that 99% of politicians are liars and will say whatever they think you want to hear to get elected.

There is one thing I do know!

He is in control!

We may not have gotten the results we expected from this election, but God knew who we would choose. I have had so much scripture running through my head since I woke up and read Obama won.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

We need to truly have salvation! Jesus died for us if we live for him-we will live with him! All things, not some, all work for God’s glory. Maybe God is expecting us to humble ourselves-truly humble ourselves, and pray-truly pray, and TURN-truly TURN. We have become a nation of “Do what I say, not what I do” people. I know that I need to take heed to this scripture! Do I truly humble myself? Do I truly pray? Am I truly turning from my wicked ways?

Today and every day we need to check ourselves. Ask ourselves “Am I humbling myself?” “Am I praying?” AND “Am I turning from my wicked ways?”
